Spildra is an 8.3 square mile island of northern Norway with a population (2021) of 23 people. Located within the Kvænangen fjord, Spildra is rich in Norse history and close to the Øksfjordjøkulen Glacier. The textures created in this piece are meant to represent the unique beauty and fragility of the island. This piece makes use of bowed vibraphone and harp bisbigliando.
